Evolution Capital was founded in 2003 by Nigel Cook and Grahame Purvis, both of whom have extensive
experience in building businesses through carefully structured mergers and acquisitions.

Nigel is an M&A specialist, with a respected reputation as a deal maker and creator of value in the telecommunications sector. He has completed over 30 transactions and financings and combines unique transactional experience with an enviable network of relationships throughout the industry. His regular columns in the telecoms trade press comment incisively on current M&A activity and offers valuable advice to prospective buyers and sellers.

In his capacity as Chief Executive, Nigel heads up the Client Services Acquisition team and is responsible for the direction of engagements for our mandated acquirers. Additionally, he oversees the development of relationships with our banking and investment partners.

Nigel’s objective is to focus all our business resources on the pursuit, qualification and negotiation of premium business opportunities for our clients.

Grahame, with over 20 years experience in the sector, has held Chief Executive and Managing Director roles in Mercury Communications, Cable & Wireless, Blick Plc and most recently as Chairman and CEO of GX Networks, a business he founded and subsequently floated. He has built and sold communications and technology businesses in the UK, Europe and the USA and has a strong reputation for creating and realising shareholder value. Grahame has structured, negotiated and completed numerous corporate deals, financings and disposals, notably growing the market capitalisation of GX Networks from £6m to over £140m.

In his role as Chairman, Grahame leads the Evolution Capital Board and brings his wealth of experience to all major deals. He also heads up the Client Services Disposal team where he is responsible for representing shareholders’ best interests, helping them plan and implement exit strategies.
